The first annual (?) St Blog's conference/get-together/whoop-ti-do
Lane Core just nominated me to organize the St Blog's conference I mentioned recently. Heh. OK.
I haven't decided on a date yet, but sometime next year during the summer, a weekend, perhaps around an appropriate feast day. It'll be in Champaign, IL at a local hotel. I hereby decree Champaign to be a nice central location :-) Diocese of Peoria and all that. The Hawthorn Suites next door to Wolfram Research hosts our yearly Mathematica conferences, so they can handle this. Send RSVPs and (until a date is selected) please suggest some dates. Until further notice, RSVP either by leaving a comment here or by emailing me at minutiae@gmail.com. If you email PLEASE put the phrase "St Blogs Conference" in the subject line of your email, or I may not see it.
Well, not a set-in-stone RSVP just yet. Just comment or drop me a line if this sounds interesting.

UPDATE: Here's a rather sad-looking webpage to get us started. I'll probably move that in the next few days to a place where I can set up a blog, a wiki, etc.

Dear Bill,
I'll be in Chicago next year in the summer, first or second week of July--as close as I'm likely to get to Champaign, which I realize isn't very. Ah well. I'll be there in spirit.

Indeed. Excluding Pentecost and Corpus Christi, three weekends between May and August (inclusive) look particularly interesting liturgically:

There doesn't seem to be an overwhelming response yet...do we need to do *ahem* do some targeted marketing (Amy, Mark Shea, Jimmy Akin, the Whapsters, and others)?
